i saw many religos painting in the national gallery - but this image of st Micheal Triumphant over the devil with the donor Antonio Juan is definatly my favorate. this image dose not even capture a fraction of its beauty.

The only way i know of re-creating the same twisting of scale - use a lot of gold and sequins inspired by book of kells.
